This Privacy Policy explains how Sandbar ("Sandbar," "we," "us") handles information when you use the Sandbar iOS app (the "App") and this website. The short version: your fishing spots stay on your phone, we collect as little as possible, and we don't sell your data.

1. Information stored on your device only

The following data is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers:

We never transmit your saved spot coordinates off your device. There is no public spot map, feed, or leaderboard that exposes your locations.

2. Information we process

Conditions data requests

To show tides, wind, swell, and water temperature, the App requests data from public sources such as NOAA tide stations and offshore buoys. These requests reference a station or buoy identifier for the general area you're viewing, not your saved spot coordinates.

AI fish identification

When you use the fish ID feature, the photo you submit is sent to our processing service and an AI vision provider to generate an identification. Photos are used to produce the identification result and are not used to build advertising profiles. Do not include content in scan photos that you would not want processed.

Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple provides us with anonymized transaction records needed to unlock Premium features and comply with tax and accounting law.

Email list (website)

If you join our email list on this website, your email address is collected and stored via Formspree, our form processing provider, and used only to send you the updates you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Support

If you email us at sandbarfishingapp@gmail.com, we receive your email address and message contents and use them to respond to you.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, email sandbarfishingapp@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

6. Data retention

Data stored on your device stays until you delete it or delete the App. Email list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are retained as long as needed to resolve your issue and for our records.

7. Children

Sandbar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we process, including transport encryption (HTTPS) for all network requests. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App or by email.
